Musas Vol. II
Echoes of Immigration
Piano Works by Immigrant Women Composers
Musas Vol. II continues the important journey initiated by Dr. Gabriela Calderón Cornejo, shining light on underrepresented women’s voices. This time the focus is on composers whose lives and music were profoundly shaped by the experience of migration. Some of them left their homelands in search of new opportunities, others were exiled by circumstances beyond their control, but all of them carried their cultural identity with them, weaving echoes of memory, tradition, and displacement into their music.

Musas Vol. I
Piano Works by Latin American Women Composers
Musas is a project conceived by Dr. Gabriela Calderón Cornejo as an effort to shed light on and bring exposure to the works of underrepresented Latin American women composers. Many of their works are at risk of disappearing, as their original manuscripts and first editions continue to deteriorate. Through Musas, Gabriela aims to preserve these works (and many more in the future) and promote their presence on the stage. Musas has been featured in numerous concert series, workshops, national and international conferences, podcast interviews and magazine articles. Musas consists of an anthology, transcribed and edited by Gabriela, as well as a studio album available on all digital platforms.
